Learning Life Skills Through Wyoming 4-H

4-H is an informal, practical, learning-by-doing educational program for youth. The purpose of 4-H is to help youth acquire knowledge, develop life skills, and form attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive members of society. As a program of the University of Wyoming, programs are offered for kids ranging from 8 years old until 18.

Wyoming 4-H members may choose from up to 45 different projects, or they may develop their own project with the help of an adult volunteer leader. Projects are grouped into the areas of animal science, expressive arts, healthy living, leadership and civic engagement, science, and technology, as well as natural resource education.

Here in Teton County, 4-H serves over 200 youth each year through their various programs. Bank of Jackson Hole is proud to support both Teton County 4-H and Lincoln County 4-H through their livestock sales, which in turn supports local food assistance programs in both counties.

“4-H provides not only practical learning for our kids, but also teaches strong values, of hard work, commitment, and responsibility. These values resonate with all of us at Bank of Jackson Hole, as we seek ways to continuously serve and support our local communities,” stated Pete Lawton, BoJH CEO.
